LLI Medical

We work in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Health (MOH) with whom we have a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU), and different medical Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) partners or parties.

To date all the missions were accomplished by volunteer medical specialist and their teams, who are reimbursed for travelling expenses and overhead.

i) Initiation

We identify medical specialities where there is currently a lack of expertise and therefore a need for further development within Iraq.

ii) Facilitation

We find a party and/or a Medical NGO and work with them in putting together a programme, a mission or a team to meet the identified need. We also find appropriate medical centres and provinces willing and equipped to accommodate the project.

iii) Project Management

We submit a proposal for the project to the relevant Local Health Directorate (LHD), which is used by the LHD to obtain formal approvals from the MOH. Funding is usually paid directly by either the MOH, or the regional government to the group/ NGO providing the service. We coordinate with our partners and the LHD to ensure the often significant logistical and administrative arrangements are in place to make sure the project is successful.
